What Do Your Customers Buy?

Even if you haven't sold a thing yet on the web, you know quite a bit about what your customers buy. That's because you have collected product information from magazines and competitor web sites.

But in order to understand your market niche better, and to do a better job of positioning your products, you need the product information firmly in your mind. To accomplish that, you need to extract the products you've listed in earlier exercises and put them in a single list.

Your 20 Minute Task

If you did the Search for Problems task in the "Know Your Niche" module, you'll find a list with some products on it in your "Niche Characteristics" folder. If you did the Keyword One task in the "Know Your Competition" module you'll find one or more sheets in your "Competitor Intelligence" file. Take them out now. Open a spreadsheet on your computer or take a clean sheet of paper and transfer the products from the earlier lists to a new one. Write the brand name, the product description and the price if you have it.

When you're done, file the new sheet in your "Make Money" folder. File the other sheets next to it, rather than returning them to their original folders, because you're going to need them again soon.
