You Need Content

One way to draw potential customers to your web site is to have content that interests them. When they search for a topic in a search engine, the presence of an article, podcast or video about it on your site will encourage the search engine to link to you. It may also encourage other web sites to link to you. And, as we'll see later, that same content will provide you a chance to sell to your customers.

But what should you write about or talk about or video?

As you've probably guessed, part of the answer is in the magazines you've collected. The publishers are targeting the same niche you are and they have a pretty good idea about what will interest its members. Therefore, each issue of the magazine will include articles covering those interests. Niche members won't mind reading about the topics again. You should make a list of the topics so that either you or someone else can eventually create content about them to draw readers to your site.

Your 20 Minute Task

Start another set of notes. Then comb through the magazines you have in front of you and make a list of the article topics. When you're done, file the list in your "Niche Characteristics" folder.
